If i had to choose between a mach 1 and a new gt, and i did, i would choose the GT again.

But if i had to do it ALL over again, I would get either a black or redfire 04 cobra.

what do you plan on doing with either car? Are you gonna mod the hell out of either one? Check this out if you are thinking about putting a lot of mods on an 05 https://mustangforums.com/m_1144931/tm.htm My buddy has a 97 cobra that has basically the same motor as the 03/04 mach 1 and it's pretty quick, but I guess it's all about what you plan on doing to the car and how much $$ you are willing to throw down.

go with the mach 1, and go ask this in either the 4.6 section or off topic and see what you get. i say mach 1 because it is rarer, and i think the bottem of the mach engines are forged, plus SN-95s look better and dont have the drive by wire. however i would say go cobra if you can, then you get a fully forged motor, with an IRS, 390 hp and torque, and one of the best trannys that have ever been put into a stang (t-56)

For the money, I would get a brand new 0 mile car over a used car anyday..unless you know the previous owner of the car, it could have been beaten on pretty hard, wrecked, etc. I just saw a blue 2004 mach for sale yesterday and its really a nice looking car. Id never trade my 05 GT for it though. I have a brand new car that I know the history of.

+1 I really love the Mach 1's.....and I'd gladly get one if I could afford both it and my 05. But I have to agree.......I really don't like buying a performance car that I don't know the exact history of. There's nothing like having a car that only you have been behind the wheel of.

I'm not saying this because I have a GT, but because I have dealt with used cars before. Go with the new GT, you will not regret it and you have a three year warranty. Used cars are almost guaranteed to come with problems. In the end its your choice but if the car ever runs into any problems you won't be a happy camper.

I would say GT because previous mustangs had the ugliest shifters. Ok thats not much, but I hated those bulky things.

my #1 thing is the ride; i have a little bit of a back problem, so i want a sports car thats a bit more forgiving on the road then a normally sports car like a 350z( my friend has one, every bump, i felt big time) I could see my self doing minor mods (exhuast, intake, headers, etc) def no 10 sec car or a race car or anything like that. This well be my first 300hp car (old one=222hp) so ill have plenty of power for now anyway..lol

No way i can get or want a used cobra...My dads helping me out w/ these car; and it was hard enough to talk him into a 300hp car, forget 400...plus i dont know one cobra that is just not beat on all the time...its uncalled for; lol. so the fact that the gt is new; is a big factor; so im pretty sure im going w/ a new gt unless i find a good mach for a good price; prolly not...

btw- i found out that the 07 gts can be orange; what do you guys think..orange w/ black stripes?
