If you have an automatic 4.10 is too much, especially with a blower.
The first gear in an auto is so low it is seems about perfect with the 3.73 gear now.
If you have a manual trans- 4.10 is better choice because they have a taller 1st gear and they have a taller 5th gear (overdrive) too
Bull **** all S197s have a taller OD then the SN-95s and the smart SN-95 people go with 4.10s, also it depends on the blower, nanaki has 3.73s and a vortch, wants 4.10s cause 3.73s aremt enough and still gets better gas milage then my V-6 with stock gear

LAMO. IMHO I don't think you understand gear ratios that well.

I have more gear (meaning it is geared lower) in my automatic GT with 3.73s than anyone has with a manual and 4.10s! I can prove it too!

Mike
yes and the 4R70W trannies in the SN-95s have even more gear then that and there are no problems with them, all S197s should have 4.10s

What about an automatic with 3.93 over 3.73's , I have seen enough people around here both manual and auto with 4.10's who love them but I would rather go alittle less then 4.10's

they are 3.90s and motive makes them, there is a 100 rpm differece between 3.73, 3.90s and 4.10s and 200 rpms to 4.30s

I too would like to know how much the manual 4.10 gears cost and how much for the install.

Original poster is asking what kind of 0-60 and/or 1/4 mile he would get with a stock GT with 4.10 gears....I'm very interested in that too.

So, what about it? Anybody got some times or some info?
