Default 3.73 guys

How much of a difference in 1/4 mile times did you guys notice with the 3.73 gears? thanks

I am considering it and wondering if it is worth it... seems like 4.10s would just kill gas mileage

If you have an automatic 4.10 is too much, especially with a blower.
The first gear in an auto is so low it is seems about perfect with the 3.73 gear now.
If you have a manual trans- 4.10 is better choice because they have a taller 1st gear and they have a taller 5th gear (overdrive) too

I'm going to be going with 4.10 gears when I finally do mine, like said before it's just a waste if your going to do the 3.73 gears. I was even almost thinking about the 4.30 gears but decided that it would hurt my gas mileage a little too much.

Bull **** all S197s have a taller OD then the SN-95s and the smart SN-95 people go with 4.10s, also it depends on the blower, nanaki has 3.73s and a vortch, wants 4.10s cause 3.73s aremt enough and still gets better gas milage then my V-6 with stock gear

LAMO. IMHO I don't think you understand gear ratios that well.

I have more gear (meaning it is geared lower) in my automatic GT with 3.73s than anyone has with a manual and 4.10s! I can prove it too!

+1

Automatics should stick with 3.73s

Manuals should use 4.10s

Believe it or not, an automatic with 3.73s is technically lower geared than a manual with 4.10s!

Since you have a manual, 4.10s are most likely the best choice. Your current gear is a 3.55 so a 3.73 ain't much of a bump.

Those with automatics should stick with 3.73s IMHO.

Thx,

Mike
