I don’t doubt the F-250 is quick, or any diesel truck can be made to be quick.

I guess my real question is how can a Mustang run slower (under normal circumstances) than 14.1? If the F-250 ran 14.1 and was several car lengths ahead, it seems the Mustang must have run mid 14’s. That just doesn’t add up???

as I mentioned in my previous post... Torque, the Diesels are monsters when it comes to torque (560 stock for a 6.3L at 2000 RPM) Add the tuner to these trucks that tweak the boost and your well over 650ft/lbs of tq, that gets the 2 1/2 ton disel moving quick, it just runs out of 'steam' as that HP (325) has to keep pushing that weight.

Torque = accel

650 tq > 300 tq = car lenghts

perhaps the mustang driver was also an SCT person and sandbagged the race to make it look like the mustang was losing.

14.1 "best" for the F250 suggests it probably had times up to 14.3or so...
that's almost a full second slower than the ideal mustang pass...and like was mentioned before...even a crappy launch should catch up to the F250.

....lik everyone else I'm a little skeptical.

Well yeah, but #'s wise Gt's get 13.5's stock. 13.5=better than 14.1.

It's only an article... For a truck that is running 14.1 at best... We know, that our cars should be able to beat it stock. Add a few mods on and it'll never come close to touching us.

+1 A truck who's best 1/4 time was 14.1 can have all the torque and hp in the world........but it's still slower than a stock GT that puts down times of 13.9 to 13.5.
Don't sweat the BS you read about in magazine advertisements.........err, articles.

Alright, I have a 04 f250 4x4 with a edge juice tuner a banks 5" ss exhaust and a c&l intake system, the truck was very quick with stock size tires, but when i went up to 285's it seemed to slow it down some. The truck has outrun a mid 80's 5.0 at a light to light street race. Now, i also have a 05 gt 5spd, with a superchips max tuner, hooker exhaust k&n intake and 4:10's aand it will smoke the truck!!! speed is basically horsepower vs weight so thats about all you can say about that. I think all us deisel guys like to brag on our trucks but lets keep it real.

Hmmm...
I have a 7.3l powerstroke. Tuned. Big banks turbo, 5" exhaust,etc,etc. It moves quick for a truck and weighting 8500 pounds empty.
Guys are propane injecting them too (line nitrous to a gas motor). But it's still slow rolling off the line,then it kicks in..
$$$=HP

they never said what year gt...sure that truck could beat a 94 mustang gt...but imo anything w/ that kind of weight is going to start slowing down w/ higher speeds.
