springs/control arms?
Hi all,
I want to lower my gt maybe 1.5 inches or so, and was talking to a car buff here at work. He says that with just springs, the wheels won't completely sit right on the ground, and that diff control arms may be needed. Another person says that's only true with major drops, like 4+ inches. Input please!

Although new arms would be nice, they are not necessary. When you drop the car that much or more then the motion of the stock arms is very limited. As for the camber, a set of camber bolts takes care of this issue. I also picked up some struts / dampers from Ford Racing. That really smoothed out the ride. Others are using the Tokico's for adjustability.

Eibach Pro-Kit gives you about a 1.0-1.5" drop, so does a FRPP kit that I can't think of the name, and Steeda makes a spring kit thats about 1.0-1.5" drop.
As far as any other suspension mods, such as a panhard bar, panhard brace, LCA's, etc.....you only need those if you are going really low. You can take the car to any local alignment shop to get it aligned correctly so the wheels don't have a camber. When you fix the camber, obviously the tires will sit flush with the ground.
Hope this helps!
