I could be wrong but I highly doubt it. I have seen or heard of 0 evidence to remotely suggest what he is saying on ANY car.

Damn, usually I pick up on sarcasm better than that.

Guys, I hate to be the one who discovered it..........but there is a cure for the power-craving plague that we GT owners are suffering from: it's called being broke.
The cure is definitely worse than the disease though.......at this very moment I'm fighting back the urge to go knock over a convenience store to fund my future shortblock upgrade[sm=headbang.gif]

I have a great cure! I have a 6 cilynder F-150 truck, the big 4wd. good torque, but no HP. Drives like a tank. Drive it around for two days, getting lumber, rocks, mulch, and more parts. Then get back in the stang some cool, moist morning. Watch the early rays of sunlight glint off the chrome instrument bezel. Crank up "Black Betty", on the shaker, right as I hit the ignition, and listen to that sweet girl come to life. Let it idle long enough for the oil to circulate, then pull out and scald the pavement through three gears. DANG she has it back. Git you some! It is sort of a variation on the "good things come to those who wait" thing. But it makes it like a new car every time. You just need something to regularly compare it to. Ok, so the s/c wasnt enough, the gears are going in as we speak, and the long tubes are somewhere in a ups truck right now. I got it just as bad. Who am I kidding. Hello, my name is Curtis, and I am a Stang-a-holic.
Oh, yeah, ThisBlood- You arent cured. You are just dry.

Thanks - I didn't know that...very interesting where technology has taken us. Wonder if the car is recording when I get a ******* and playing it back for it's car friends...

The following press release from Motorola in 2001 highlights the advantages and features of its MPC-500 family of CPU's:
http://www.motorola.com/mediacenter/...341_23,00.html
Take note of this specific use for the MPC-555(MPC-565's predecessor) about halfway down the page:
"adaptive systems that utilize the Flash memory system to record and update system parameters."
So, yes, this CPU is definitely adaptive.
In fact, Mustang EEC CPU's over the past few years have all been adaptive. They are just not as sophisticated as the Spanish Oak unit.
And while you make light of the CPU's capabilities, just remember that it is continuously recording data, like engine rpm's and speed, which can be downloaded for use by the police in the event of an accident, and by the dealership if you should need warranty coverage because your engine blows up.

Kingfish,
I'm so sorry to hear that. Apparently you have the first symptoms of Idonthavenufpoeritis. In it's early stages it seems treatable. Do a tune, add some mods, feels like you got more power. But unfortunately the disease is degenerative and only gets worse. Ultimately you'll add a supercharger, gears, aircraft fuel, gut the interior, use drag sligs...nothing will satify. You'll find some on this forum like Chevykiller that have progressed so far they're ready to try thermal nuclear reactor devices to produce MORE POWER. The best scenario you can hope for is to cope and warn other poor souls before they go off that slippery slope. I know because my car today is absolutely slower than when I drove it off the lot.

New gt and 900 miles ,not even broken in yet and want more power. I know it is all in my head ,but I feel like my car is not as fast as it was a week ago. Anyone else dealing or dealt with this.

Very Good Ski. I work with Motorola PCM's in Marine applications. I can tell you how much time you spent at a particular RPM in increments, how many times you hit the rev limiter etc. I've seen so much time spent at WOT that I often wondered how the guy got it in and out of the dock. My kind of guy

Thanks, rotorr22.
Normally, the police around here do not have to look at my car's computer readout. They just get the evidence off their radar gun.
And I pray that I'll never need warranty coverage for a blown engine.

I also know a tuner who is working on a throttle cable setup to bypass this.

Since were talking about that...
A simple KILL Switch for added protection... clip and splice the wire leading to your throttle control.... hide a switch where you can easily get to it, but a thief would really have to search, if he ever thinks to do so.
when you get out at the mall... flip the switch.
Even if they do break in.... hack the lock and get the car started... they aren't going to go anywere because the throttle won't react unless you flip the switch!
now.. about the horsepower..
You are getting used to it.. and everyone is right.. it is addiction - you will always need just a little more.
However.. there is hope... about the time you have modded it to about 1,200HP the addiction for more will subside!
