Default Just installed my C&L from EVo

So Finally after a gruelling wait(the weekend), I got my C&L CAI from Fred at Evolution. Installed it, took a little longer than it should have, but I am new to the whole under the hood part of driving fast, at least doing it myself. Anyways, got her in, reflashed no problems. Started her up and I thought I could here a difference, but wasnt sure. Took her out to this secluded road I know and launched at about 2800rpms, perfect, and then wam it hit me, holy crap I had a grin on from ear to friggin ear. And this is only with the 87 octane tune, as thats what I had in my car at the moment. Can't wait til I can put 93 in........Anyway, I was feeling great about it and wanted to show someone, just so happend my pops lives just across the street.

SO I take him out in it to the same road and do a launch again. Didnt feel exactly the same, but still quick, I asked him what he thought, and he said he didnt feel a difference. So then I started thinking, maybe its just in my head, maybe I just got a really good launch? I dunno. Anybody else have this issue after taking someone out in there stang after the C&L install? I'm thinking he just doesnt know cars all the well, but still he has been in my car plenty of times prior to the install.

Any input greatly appreciated.

Yes, same thing here but I know for a fact there is increased throttle response. I definately feel it for sure and its not in my head, although now it doesn't even feel like I did the mod since i've been driving it for a few weeks.

OK ignore al previous worries. Took her out again tonight and got the grin back ear to ear. I think it just needed to marinate for a night or too before the tune really got settled in. So yeah, def. recommend this setup, so much better response all the way around. Also the trick to get rid of throttle lag(depressing the gas peddle) works wonders paired with the tune. Thats all I have to report, at least until the next mod.
Man I want a supercharger!!!!!!

"Man I want a supercharger!!!!!!"

I have the same itch, but can't scratch it yet. It's irritating!

hey dude....

i installed the same setup a couple of months ago....i went from using 87oct. - bone stock, to the C&L with a 91oct. tune. felt the difference IMMEDIATELY, and this definitely wasn't in my head. your foot gets used to giving a certain amount of gas to accelerate, and without even trying the car almost got away from me the first time i drove it after the install...at first i thought "eh just gave it a little more gas than ususal", but after driving it around and really flooring it...it's almost like a different car. and it definitely sounds throatier. at first i didn't think it even needed exhaust, but i think i might break down at some point and throw some borlas on there anyway

if you're still using the 87 octane tune, i'd suggest putting some 91 or 93 (whatever you have in your area) in the tank and reflashing it with the appropriate tune...i doubt you'll be disappointed.
