Just Picked Up My Borlas! EDIT: INSTALLED

RE: Just Picked Up My Borlas! EDIT: INSTALLED
I've been running with the Borla 'agressive' cat-backs for a couple weeks. I gotta agree, I love the sound. Loud, yes, but somehow refined as well, very hard to explain. The drone is pretty severe around 2k rpm, as reported, but I've had no problems at all avoid that spot on the dial, so really a non-issue. With windows up or down, I've easily been able to listen to the stereo, of course, mostly I don't want to anymore, just want to listen to that beautiful rumble.
Pretty clear, another Borla convert here.
P.S. Got a great deal too - $300 slightly used, they were take-offs 'cause they were 'too loud'.

You guys have ordered the cat back kits right and not the axel backs? is there really that much of a difference between the cat-back and axel-back borla ssytems? would appreciate if someone replied that has heard both.

Hiya,
Yes, I've heard both. Technically, I had both.
I took off the mufflers first and just replaced them with the Borla axlebacks (The axleback kit and catback kit have the same mufflers). I was in a hurry so I couldn't change the pipes.
With just the axlebacks, the car sounded great! Then I went to work and came back and changed the piping. I compared the pipes side by side, what a difference! I should of got a picture. The stock piping has about 15 bends in it. The Borla piping has only 4 which are mendral bent. The flow through them is so much better.
I put them on (not before running up and down the street open header ) and you could tell the difference. You could hear it. It sounded smoother and bolder. I would say they are worth it. I paid $450 for the entire catback system, so it was definitly worth it to go with the catback (axlebacks would of prob cost the same). I wouldn't pay $700 for it though.

are you talking about my grill? I have the t-rex grills...
not sure if its that big of a diff.. again, we were both reving it so we dont know.... if others were reving it for us, we could prolly tell if thats the case or not.

installed my FRPP borlas this week and the outside sound is awesome - but lets keep a reality check here; the interior noise is really loud with a drone at around 2000 rpms - enough for my wife to want them removed - NOT - at this point but after the novelity wears off i will have to reevaluate this. But now the heads are turning again and staring at me; even had another kid in his SRT 4 wanna try it on - but no - i dont race; it is good enough for me to know i have the best lookin car on the road and know that he is jealous.
