Hehe...Just thought I'd be dramatic for dramatic's sake.

Anyway, here: https://mustangforums.com/m_1210512/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm , That guy VnCist00 says he, rather his "friend" can get his GT to a 12.5 1/4 mile with approx 2000 bucks.

If you don't remember about 1 or 2 weeks ago I asked this from here https://mustangforums.com/m_1180576/...tm.htm#1180576

Well needless to say, a 12.5 will definately do the trick. But the question is, do you folks feel those mods will do the trick?

Again, I'm still a noob to this, but I'm learnin from you people and I appreciate your opinions.

So, what do you guys think, will gears, CAI/Tuner combo, exhaust and another shop custom tune be enough to beat a 2003 cobra and still be SAFE (safe for the car and its standard warranty I mean) to drive?

Warrenty can be a touchy issue with a tune. No a dealer can't tell what you have done, but they can see that the computer has been flashed and how many times. They can ask "So, what have you been altering in the computer" and then talk yourself out of that one.. That is what I've been told and the people selling them are correct in telling you that the dealer can't tell that there isn't anything but the stock program in it. They can tell someone besides them has and they are required to log it every time it's done.

I was talking to a mechanic guy about that today, he claims that when you flash a car with a tuner, all you need to do is disconnect the battery for a couple hours and then reflash the original code and drive it for a couple more hours and the dealer cannot tell and/or prove you've done anything.

Not sure if its true, but thats just something I thought I'd join in on the hijack real quick with :P

I spoke to a few mechanics at my dealer, they claim they can tell no matter what we do, if we tune and reflash back or whatever they will know. I find that hard to believe if the flash tuner replaces the new tune with the stock tune, unless there is a time date stamp or a flash date I can't see how they would know.

Edit... I just spoke with John at Tunable Induction, he says there is no way the dealer can tell if you reflash it back to stock. I believe him.

I saw a guy that was running long tubes, a MAC off road prochamber, JBA axle-backs, Steeda charge plates, UD pulleys, JLT and dyno tuned. He kept up with an 03' on his first test drive off the dyno but he did pull on him. The tuner said that the guy driving the Cobra was really surprised.

my friends gt has beat 03/04 cobras MANY times. its not much of a blowout unless its a stock cobra, but unless they have put on a pully and gotten a good tune, he usually walks them. he has an 05 with intake, pullies, tb, 4.30s, and a dyno tune nothing else.

Just tell the dealer that you kept everything totally stock and flashed it for 93 octane and nothing else.

So you flashed it. Big deal. the car comes set at 87. you wanted it at 93.

Big deal. Great lie....
