Isn't the mycolor thing bundled with the message center? They were both part of the interior upgrade package. The mycolor I've fiddled with a bit but wouldn't really miss it. The message center is pretty handy though.

I still change the colors from time to time. Like most are saying here, it's fun, has some uses, but isn't a big-big deal. I like that I can change for different driving conditions--I find that my preferred "MyColor Red" isn't as easy to see during dusk, so I switch to a light shade of blue that shows brightly.

Really, it's a trick feature, but like all "trick" things, mainly just for fun and the cool-factor.

Best,
-j
Yeah the red on mine looks more pinkish-purple instead of red. I just leave mine on full blue.

I did not get this option and would like to add it to my new baby! What parts are required for the message center? anybody know? I would assume that all the wire harnesses are already there.

My gauge swap is happening as we speak. afixer set me up. Y2K Ford in WA is where I ordered the cluster - see link. The parts guy there Ed Olson was awsome. It was $280.40 to get the cluster and switch and that includes shipping UPS ground. You will get charged a $300 core fee but Ed gave me a DHL shipping slip to send my old cluster back in it's original box. Then you get the $300 back when Ford recieves the package. I think my dealer is charging around $100 for the install.

It says the dash is for an 05, is it the same as the 06? also what other features does the message center provide? Oil life or anything?

you know i have this option and got my car last june and have never driven it in the dark! (or the rain); played with it in the garage and it is cool; guess my life is shallow now for not having used it.

Don't feel bad, vicmeldrew. I don't drive mine at night or in the rain either.

Looks like I'm the only person who puts his color to the dark gray option 1-1-1. It makes the red needles glow more. It's cool to watch them sweep. When I'm not using the gray, I go with cobalt blue.

I set mine to 1-1-1 occasionally. When mine isn't on blue it is on a silverish color to match my car.

It's nice. I do not notice the differnence in color from the other guages since, I turn the odometer off. It's not a deal breaker, but nice to have. Ihave mine set to blue.

It's pretty cool once you read the manual to figure it out. I have changed mine to a cool blue color, and if I want to change it again, I would need the manual.
