With good rubber and great shifts, I am not suprised to see a limited mod manual GT break into the high 12's at all. If you got your 60' in the low 1.7's and below, you SHOULD be in the high 12's IMO.
As far as shifting, as I admitted in this thread, I am certainly not the greatest. Personally, I just slightly let off the gas and depress the clutch about 1/3 way while shifting at the same time. As I'm moving the shifter into gear, I'm pressing the gas back down to the floor. It's a little hard to explain, but that's pretty much what I do if you can visualize it. Adam, for example, never let's off the gas and he 'bangs' the gears. (you hear a loud 'boom' everytime he shifts) and he creates a small flame out of my exhaust when he shifts. It is downright amazing and frustrating at the same time cause he can't explain how to do it - it's just reflex for him. I have rode next to him many a times watching closely and still can't shift like that. Practice, practice, practice. There is no better teacher for this particular talent than experience.
