Default Nice body style 2005-2006 but..........

I am a big mustang fan i just got rid of my 2001 v6 mustang had a really good time having that but i am just in the process of getting a 2002 GT. I think that the 2005 and 2006 are really nice looking and everything but ford could have done alot more with the car i think that they are just to heavy they could of done something much better with the weight

Have you driven one? My ex g/f had a 2002 GT, and the driving difference is night and day, her car was like a sled in comparison.

I am certainly not going to hide the fact I wish the car was lighter too, but the power & handling upgrades far outway the weight issues. Your 02 could probably barely hang with a new V6.

You should definitely test drive a sixer and GT before you lay down your cash for that 02...

Yeah, they are definitely heavy, but well built. Still descently fast for a heavy car. Plus, because its heavy, its solid and thus safe. lol.
02s are nice tho, but i think ford did a good job w/the new ones.

The difference isn't huge and stock vs stock the 2005/06 will wipe the floor with the '02 so why let the weight difference matter so much? Also if you're above 5'9 you can actually have leg room in the new car. Did I mention it's faster than the '02?

The new ones also draw a crowd... can't complain about that.

Test drove an '04 GT and now have an '05 GT and I agree that there is absolutely no comparison between the two. The '05 out-shines the last gen. in every way IMO. And the increase in power far far outweighs the increase in weight.

The weight isn't even noticeable...the car is 100 times more solid and a whole lot more refined. The last gens were good for modifying and dragging, but overall, they don't even hold a candle to the new ones.

Where do you guys get that it is so heavy. Mine weighs 3450 empty, my fully loaded auto 2v weighed 3375. The 75 lbs does not make a difference. The 3v dynos 265ish stock with a manual the 2v dynos 220ish with a manual. You guys need to do your research before you make these claims. I had a 04 GT auto fully loaded and now the '05 so I know the difference.

Agreed, the weight difference isn't big enough to make a difference, I guess it looks bigger so people assume it must weigh a lot more. Not sure why someone would care more about weight than looks and power, heck even at 260hp I'd take the new one any day. This car is that much better than the previous generation and I mean no ill-will on them, I love all Mustang's, well, except the Mustang II, can't get myself to like those.
