Default The Pirellis are rough as Chinese algebra. Can anyone...

... recommend a smoother and quieter riding performance tire? The damn things flat spot bad and take a couple of miles to smooth out. After that they are ok until I get to the freeway. Its not glass smooth, and the car has the most road noise of any car Ive ever been in. Very uncomforting to say the least. But when the road changes from concrete to asphalt, it quites down quite a bit. Has anyone found a reasonably priced, smooth, quiet performace tire for these cars? [&:]

Hehe. I'm not concerned with road noise of the tires... Seeing as my exhaust makes it hard to even hear the radio.

HA! You should have heard and felt the run flats on my Vette. These feel smoooth.

I'm afraid the only option available for quieting the road noise down a bit is either to:
1. Put some sound dampening material in your floorboards
2. Go with some smaller rims and/or more rubber on your radials.

Unfortunately, no matter what you do you need to accept the fact that this car will never ride as quietly as a Lexus......and well it shouldn't.

You might try Tire Rack. They post costomer surveys addressing among other things, tire noise. Good luck.
