GM definitely dropped the ball with the GTO. However if you were stock, he would have handed your *** to you. Especially since you have an automatic. In today's world it's not even about the driver and the car, it's about who can drop the most $$$$ in the tune shop. You should rename this thread -2005 GTO TUNE ASSISTED KILL. That would alleviate the misconception that the Mustang is in the 05 GTO's league. The 2004 LS1 versions do a verified 5.3 60mph sprint and the 2005 equipped with ferocious LS2 does it in 4.7 secs. The quarter mile comes in only 13.3 sec. The O5 Mustang does 0-60 in about 4.9 MT 5.1 Auto. However you don't have to take my word for it.... just run your stock stang against a 2005 GTO and you'll be staring at the license plates in no time. Even with your Mods I'm still amazed by the 3 1/2 car lengths.

i know without a doubt you could walk an ls2 gto...ive done it just the same and my car is about the exact same speed as yours. the thing is though: 3.5 cars IS headlights far in the rear mirror (thats like 50+ feet), and i know as do others that huge kills lend themselves to exaggerated "car length" numbers. for reference, 3.5 cars is at least .3 seconds in the 1/4, and to do it from 80-110 is about what a procharged z06 did to me. nice kill nonetheless and way to rep the s197!

look I didn't come on here for people to take apart and criticize my story...the fact of the matter is the MPH and the CARLENGTHS given in my story aren't exact...I didn't get out of the car and measure the carlengths with a ruler...and even if i did, I wouldn't be able to find CARLENGTH on the ruler, because it is infact a term that is an based on an ESTIMATE...and of course peoples estimates are going to be different...so you can sit on here and have fun bitching about the carlengths...but with all that BS aside...what I do know is I EASILY walked on the GTO...and thats pretty much all that matters...and for a car that is pushing probably around 340hp being walked on by a car pushing 260-280hp (never got it dynoed) speaks for itself...

plus I'M SO SICK of people saying automatics are slower then manuals...blah blah blah...I can't tell you how many times I've been to the track and have had people be like "damn thats an automatic...thats ****s quick for an automatic"...what the f*ck is that suppose to mean?...for all you auto haters...I'm sorry to say that auto's are just as fast if not faster and are just as mean as manuals, and more importantly are CONSISTANT!

EDIT: Plus with an auto I can finger my girlfriend and drive at the same time!!!

Oh and it's true MT are faster than AT. There's nothing like completely controlling your engine power instead of having ford engineers predetermine them for you. I mentioned before... this thread should be renamed...2005 GTO TUNE ASSISTED KILL. Even still I seriously doubt if you were racing a 2005 GTO (LS2). Most likely it was a 2004(LS1). At the speeds that you claimed to be going, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference since the 2004 and 2005 have the same body style. Did you find enough time to verify that it was a 2005?

Heavy? the GTO weighs 3745lbs and the Mustang Gt is 3450. Thats not enough to offset the 100hp difference between the two. My brother has a 2005 GTO MT and hes killed every Mustang GT hes come across. I've been in his car during 2 of his kills. I guess in a Mustang forum, these things never happen. LOL

Yeah I was the *** in the GTO. It was a 2003 with transmission problems.
