GT to V6 grill

RE: GT to V6 grill
It would require lots of work because the V6 grille opening is shorter in height and narrower in width. You'd be better off making one out of perforated metal or "gutter mesh" or finding an aftermarket one.

RE: GT to V6 grill
This was mentioned before either in another post or on another Mustang forum, I can't remember.
But, yes the V6 grille is different from the GT grille and there are some things that you would need to do in order to get it to fit.
You may want to check with your local Ford parts dealer to see if there is some kind of GT grille that doesn't have the foglight cut out.
I believe Ford has a GT foglight delete option because I've seen a picture of this yellow 2005 Mustang GT in one of those Mustang magazines, I think its Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, and the front of this Stang looks just like a V6, but its definitely a GT. They use this when they test any kind of mod and I was surprised to see that it didn't have foglights.
I'll have to dig around my stack of magazines to find that issue(s).

RE: GT to V6 grill
My guess is that if a GT has a V6 grill then it has the V6 bumper; The tabs don't line up for certain and I'm hearing of dimensonal differences. I'm looking at fabricating a V6 grill into a GT grill outer shell; then removing the pony as well. This will fit perfectly into the GT bumper. Anyone want to help me out with decent price on a doner V6 grill and a GT grill for prototytping puposes? ...don't need the pony, lights and some damage may be ok. thanks, Jim

RE: GT to V6 grill
I've seen something similar with making the regular GT grille look like a V6 pony grille only keeping the GT fog lights. I was wondering where I could get a kit that would do that because I love the pony grille's look, but not the smaller lights.

RE: GT to V6 grill
No, no, no.... 06stangGT said "you can buy a "fitted" v6 grill for the gt" Putting the V6 Pony Package grill look on a GT I think is silly. I just saw one yesterday; pulled in this parking lot, saw the pony package grill and figured it was a V6 but it was a GT. No, I'm looking to do no lights, no pony. ...can't anyone appreciate that? OE honeycomb sans lights and pony. Closest thing is a billit grill that still needs powdercoating in semi-gloss black. Come on folks grab me a V6 and a GT grill; I'll show ya what I mean; help me out, possibly I can make you one after the prototype is complete: 2 vers for GT:
1) No lights, no pony. (what I will prototype)
2) No lights, yes pony (that's an easy one)
These would snap fit right into the GT bumper tabs and fit exactly as a GT grill. ...gotta scrape up one of each to prove my point/design. You want to be like everyone else or have somethin noone else has. That is the question. ...or is it... Deal or NoDeal? (lol)
