I searched the forums for a while and didn’t turn up anything solid. My question, is there a formula for +hp = -mpg. Say I want to just do some basic mods maybe just a CIA and gears. How will the +30 or so HP affect the MPG on this my daily driver.

more HP= heavier foot= horrible MPG!

nope... more hp doesn't always mean worse mpg...

my mpg actually went up and im 324rwhp compared to the 260ish at stock.

more hp when NA results from better efficiency turning the fuel into work. at partial throttle this means that the same amount of gas burns more completely, but at full throttle, the more complete burn allows more gas than before to be burned (and more air to be sucked in), which would result in lower mileage but increased fun

That's good news then. More HP means better MPG for a daily commute and more ***-kickin power when I want it [sm=devilgrin.gif]. Win - Win for me. My next question would be at what point does the increase in HP level off with gained MPG at partial throttle?

Their isnt going to be a really concrete answer to what your asking. But all in all, most bolt-ons will give you MPG. As far as your MPG VS throttle question, the slower you accelerate the bettter MPG you will get. my car (Manual GT) seem to run most efficiently at 75MPH(26.0 mpg at an average of 76MPH for 320 miles), so if you want max MPG just stay their :P. When your in the city just keep the revs down and dont get on it, thats the only way you will get MPG.

get a civc,lol...jk, try to keep it in you od or 5th gear as much as possible...lower the rpm, less the engine working, hence better mpg.
