RE: Check Engine light?

I think I read somewhere that pullies cause the alternator to be overworked and cause damage. I would do a search I know that others have had the same problem.

I thought this too so I put the Stock pulleys back on and I still get the CEL P0340, I am not sure what is causing this but I had the alternator replaced after a long fight, I put the stock pulleys back on and I got the same CEL P0340 yesterday.

I would take the pulleys back off and see if you get the CEL. to clear the CEL disconnect the battery. if you still get the light then go to dealer and have alternator replaced. if you do not get the Check engine light Call Steeda, ask for Jason (954.960.0774) and explain the issue to him. I am working with him on the same problem.

RE: Check Engine light?

Did you torque the Bolt to 68 Ft lbs Exactly the crank is balanced internally but any wobble with cause problems, I find this odd that the CEL is a CAM sensor malfunction not a Crank error... What can I tell ya..

I got the error again today and I have had the stock pulleys on for several days. I am affraid that the Steeda Pulley may have not been torqued correctly and may have damaged the front main seals because of wobble. My theory only ...

I doubt your pullys made the check engine light come on. I would have the car checked inside and out and then put your steeda pullys back on. It could be your computer adjusting.

Well My car is in the Shop again for this exact same error.
I removed my Pulleys, Intake and tune, I left the Gears and Mac exhaust, do engine wise it's stock an the CEL P0340 is still
showing up. Should have an answer today or tomarrow on what is causing this.

Just before the Check Engine Light came on, did the throttle get boggy and did the engine sound rough? or does it run normal and you just get the light?

If anything, the pullies UNDERwork the alternator. They are UNDERdrive pullies, therefore, the underdrive your accessories.

po340 is a camshaft position sensor.

as 2k05gt said, it may have to do with the alternator, though. You should read his forum posts as he is currently battling Ford and his stealer with this issue.
