My 05 GT has 2000 miles and I want to get it changed to mobile 1 full synthetic. My Ford dealer doesn't do full synthetic changes so I'm gonna have to take it to one of the quick change places that will put in Mobile 1. The question is, do I just let them put in any filter, or, take them my own Motorcraft or other filter. If so, which filter is best. Thanks, Mike

My opinion is stick with the Motorcraft. Stay away from the no name stuff and Fram.

I take mine to the Ford Dealership and let them do all the work. They only use what is said to be used in the cars manual.

That's very debatable but many studies show that synthetic doesn't break down as quickly as dino oil so under that assumpion, yes you can go farther on the oil. I just put synthetic (Mobile One) in mine and I'm going to follow the Ford 5K changes. It's only about $35 or so if you di it yourself. Cheap ins.

Go get some Mobil 1 fully synthetic, a K&N high flow filter, and bring it to your ford dealer and let them do it.
