Burning rubber with Auto

RE: Burning rubber with Auto
then a torque converter. i can can roast the tires into 4th gear without power braking. i was playing in the parking lot at work the other day and ran out of room doing aburnout. it was about 80ft long when i let off. probably could have gone 100ft or more. the converter is the key to making an auto perform.

I know very little about torque converter stall speeds. Seems like it would make it unstreetable and not something my wife would want to drive. I read the post on them and I guess I really need to drive with one. Live near S.W. Mich.?

no i'm not close. your wife probably wouldn't like mine anyway. it rides a little rough and it's a little soft in corners. i had TCI make a custom high stall converter for me but the standard 3000rpm stall converter drives nice from what i hear. my wife drives mine on occasion and the only thing she complains about is the sqeaking i get sometimes from all the urethane bushings in my suspension. she gets a lot more attention than i do when she drives it.

I meant my wife driving mine if I did the change. Heck, she won't drive mine now, which suites me just fine. Your hood scoop looks great with the white letter tires. One reason I want mine to start burning rubber is I need to burn what I have off before I buy new ones. I think power braking is real hard on a car..

i just spray WD40 on the bushings. it lasts for a few weeks. i put that super duper clear grease they give you on them and it sqeaked in about 4-5 days. i still have one more bushing to replace: the upper control arm. then there will be no rubber bushings under my car front or rear. i'm going to JPC saturday to get my 4.30 or 4.56 gears(not sure which i want) and some other goodies so my burning rubber will be even more fun.
i'm going to put this car in the 11's N/A no matter what it takes.
