Well I personaly find driving automatics a tad dull after switching over to stick for the last 4 years or so. And as previously mentioned if you drive a stick all the time traffic and stop-and-go driving don't really wear on you (unless you have some god awfull racing clutch in the car, I've got one like that...and it is a pain).

But as for insulting someone who drives an auto, I just don't do it. If they are a friend I'll give them a hard time maybe, but not some complete stranger. That's like telling someone the color of their car is ugly, or their rims suck, etc etc...even if you think the car would be better as a stick, your still insulting the person's car.

I swear, last summer I was on the parkway and this chick was driving with her left leg up on the window sill hanging out the window. Ciggarette in her left fingers and left palm on the steering wheel. Right hand with a cell phone glues to her head. It was like a circus act. I am assuming it was an automatic, if not I am really impressed, or frightened, not sure which.

Hey just be honest like me and tell them "Theres no way I could out shift the computer in this thing" it's been way to long since I owned a stick.

I would have gotten a stick but I got screwed by my dealer back in 10/20ish/04 there were so few sticks out there I ended up waiting 3 weeks and put 1k down for them to transfer one from Iowa and then the @sshole dealer gave my car to his 65 year old mom like she needed a stick please, So I ended up with an auto because I just could not wait anymore and I can't say I am sorry that I got it, I know I would be on 2nd or 3rd set of tires now if I had ended up with a stick.
