Default Beware! High curbs in parking lots

I pulled up too close to a high curb in a parking lot and scraped the bottom of my bumper. Luckily, you can't see it because it is only underneath and didn't scrape the front. I guess the only ones who'll ever notice are the mechanics that put my car on a lift.. My 2000 mustang never had this problem so the new ones must be a little lower to the ground.

I've had some similar experiences, but I was able to run them over scratch free. (OR as far as I know.) But the sound of it scratching can be heard really well, and I heard nothing.

no, its worse when you are JUST the right height to *clear* those little cinderblocks in the parking lot, but when you back out of the spot they grab the plastic tray under the radiator support and rip it and the mounting holes for the bumperoff...right after getting it all fixed from it happening the week before...

i back into all sports now, regardless[:@]

Except it wouldn't have been too high if it hadn't been tipped up by someone else...that is my fault for not looking close enough...

I know what you guys mean. I'm nervous about driving up to one. I tore out the plastic shroud on my 95 Mustang before, and it ended up falling off on the highway lol. I'm more careful now.

I've learned, the hard way, to not pull up all the way in parking areas that have those curbs.

I've learned, the hard way, to not pull up all the way in parking areas that have those curbs.

Then I learned the hard way the other day that when I do just that (not pulling all the way into the spot) that the butt of my car sticks out just enough for some moron to misjudge and back up against my rear bumper....scraping the brand new bumper I have from a rear-end accident in February. [:@] Man that made me mad!!! Bummer part was it happened while I was in the store. Don't know who did it. I swear my car is an idiot magnet!

Now I park far away and am leary of parking spaces with tight backing space.

You could aways buy one of the parking helpers, the kind that give you distance and install it on the bottom part of the bumper, some are pretty small and cheap.
