Default CAI causes MAF to go out???

Just talked to the service department here at Future Ford in Roseville CA wanting to find out about CAI and warranty and the service person told me that they won't do it because it makes the MAF sensors to go out and void the warranty. Is this true?

Thanks

I heard the same thing from the service dept. The big problem is that when you clean them and re-oil, don't be excessive with the oil. You want just enough to lightly coat the filter. Get to much and there is a chance that a droplet of oil could get into that small slot and coat the sensor. Could cause a problem but the sensor can be cleaned so I'm told.

You can buy cone filters that don't use oil...then there would be no way it could be the CAI...or just put the stocker back on if you take it for warranty work

If you change it from stock to aftermarket CAI and change the tune accordingly and then get a problem then put back the stock and stock tune; can't Ford tell if you messed with the car??? I'm sure the On board computer can log all of the changes. And all Ford has to do is re-read the LOGS...

From what I read on this forum Ford cannot tell that you did anything. They will see that it was cleared but not know what or why it happened. If they ask just tell them you had a code and disconnected the battery to clear it so you could check if it was a fluke code.
