Default ENGINE SMOKING

What is going!!!! I have an 06 GT manual w/ 2000 miles on the clock. When I start it up in the morning I noticed that there is a little puff of blue smoke comming out. When I start it two or three hours after that, it will pour blue smoke out of the tail pipes and then clear up.
I'm not hard on the car, but I have gotten on it every now and then. There are no mods and it didn't start this untill about three miles ago. Any ideas?

Take it back to the dealer and request a new engine. This is NOT normal!

See hear is what scares me, if they give me a new engine then will they try to give me a dumb reman engine or will they give me a NEW engine. Will I need to battle the dealership on this and do I even have a say-so on the matter. Another thing that bothers me is that they are going to be taking the engine out of the car, will it ever be the same?

Don't get overly excited quite yet. It is actually not abnormal for you to get a puff here and there until the engine is properly broken in and all of the seals and the rings are seated. Mine did it at first, but stopped after I had a few more miles than you currently do. If you do have a prob that is serious enough for an engine swap, still no worries. Ford has not even released a remaned 3v yet.

Well it is good to know that there have not made a reman 3valve engines. I know you said that it's not abnormal to see a puff here or there, but everytime you start it up and about three to four seconds after you start it up?
I spoke to a Ford rep and he said that the engines usually are broke in at about 200-300 miles because of the type of rings that Ford uses.

Since the car has 2000 miles on it, this is abnormal.

I suspect bad valve stem seals or some of them have worked loose (or they forgot to put them on). What you describe is the perfect scenario for oil leakage past the valvestem seals!

Take it back and raise hell about it! It ain't normal. Mine has 4300 on the clock and it does not smoke nor did it consume any oil at 3000 miles when I did the first oil change.

Hope this helps.

Mike

Aftermarket warranty is what gets you a remanufactured or a used engine out of a wrecked car. Factory warranty replaces with new parts.

Mine does this as well.It smokes during warm up and then clears up,but I am thinking it is just condensation, besides wouldn't the all knowing spanish oak throw a code if there was something even slightly wrong. These forums are starting to make me paranoid about every little thing I notice with the car kind of like one of those self diagnosis books.
