Can a 350Z beat the Mustang GT?

Guys.....I beg to differ...I just had a 35Z for 4 days as a loaner while my O5 GT Vert was in the shop. I must say the Z is WAY FASTER off the line. I would like to race one side by side in the 1/4 mile. But it is DEFINATELY faster of the line than the GT.
I noticed online that the 05 GT is 5.3 0-60 and a 06 350Z is 5.5 0-60.....
So that supports what you guys are saying, but having drove one "Like I Stole It" I kinda beg to differ. Mind you I have never been overly impressed with the power of my GT.
But what do I do take it in and say to the service dept "Dude I think this think is slower than it should be...."
As I said I feel the Z is considerabley quicker - off the line light to light anyway
Cheers!

05+ would demolish a 350Z.
pre 05 4.6Liters should still edge them out. My cousin has one and he ran a 14.7. It is an auto.

Fold up your fastest slip, and put it in the mirror compartment of your sunvisor. Keep changing the slip each time you go to the track and get a better time. ITs a nice feeling each time, and you may find you surprise yourself with a better time without any new mods just because the track condition was better for you one time than the other.

I'll keep that in mind the next time I go.
I'm reevaluating what I did good and what I did wrong so I can improve.
My reaction times were good (.176, .074, .217, .051, .081, -.011 redlight, .076, .085, .068) its just that I need to smooth out my shifts.
In 4 out of 9 runs I missed 2nd to 3rd and I redlighted once. Oh! And I forgot to turn off the traction control in my first two runs.
I guess thats typical for a rookie.
All in all, I had a great time.

you are trying to figure out what your car will do right now. Dont worry about reaction times at this point. It has no effect on your time. The clock doesnt start till you leave the staging area. Find out what RPM you can launch from, if you need to brake or not, if you can deep stage or not, etc. Later, when you have consistency in your time, then you worry about r/t. Thats what I have been told. If I concentrate on R/T, I cna get inder .1, but I really want to just go faster and faster! Guess Im just like any other driver! lol
