Default Gas cap warning

Im getting a check fuel cap message on my 06 anyone seen that? ive taken off put back on few times keeps popping up. Just started randomly 2 days ago no changes.

Yeah when i got my 06 gt 2 weeks ago it did the same thing. What happens is if you have your gas cap off when you start your car or if you take it off while its running it will trigger the light. The only way to get rid of it is to take it to a ford dealer ship and they will reset it. It only took them like 10 minutes to fix it no big deal.

I've taken mine off while the car was running to fill it up, and I haven't gotten the light.

I had the same problem, it takes the sensor a few days to realize the cap has been fixed. You need to reset the computer. This can be done at the dealership or you can disconnect your battery for about 15 minutes and that will also reset the computer.
