chevykiller, I agree that at 475 they are probably pushing it. But where are you getting your info that they will only inlclude a 420 hp tune??

I spoke with whipple and they claim that they are including a 475hp tune from ford on their HO kit and that their other kits are capable of 700-800hp when tuned with a custom shortblock with all forged etc.

They are saying 475rwhp from ford or them, with a ford engineered tune, on a stock bottom end. And I asked about warrentee and they said most likley the ford will still carry the 3-36K ford warentee.

Now, if I supercharge and go with whipple. Will I run a 475rwhp tune if ford doesent warrentee it? I would have to think twice.

But if ford includes a warrentee on the blower and keeps the powertrain warrentee intact, if they tell me the car can put down 475hp safley, and a few guys run then without grenading the block, why not intall it?

Whipple told me the thing is coming with a 475rwhp tune. Did you hear otherwise or is this just your theory?

The tunes that come with the S/C's are usually measured at the crank. So when you see an advertisement for example Saleen's 400hp base S/C and tune the actual rwhp is closer to 360rwhp. So Whipple saying 475 is closer to the 400-420rwhp which is what CK is giving you. And as far as warrenty work is concerned, I would check with your dealers as they don't have to warrenty any after market part no matter who installs them. When I bought my Saleen S/C I was told by my dealer who is an authorised Saleen dealer and has Saleen techs that they would do the install and warrenty the work, but once I took the S/C to them they said they would not install it or warrenty it. Check around before you decide to purchase any of the S/C with warrenties and find out if you can get it installed and warrentied before you buy it. As far as the forged rotating assembly you will need more then just the crank, rods and pistons.

please read http://www.whipplesuperchargers.com/...sp?ProdID=1208 475 at the rear wheels

I could be wrong but, "The HO package pumps out an astonishing 475RWHP and over 450RWTRQ, all on 91-octane pump gas and a 100% stock engine!" and if they sell you the HO package and it doesnt "pump out" 475rwhp and 450rwtrq i believe that could be considered false advertisement.

Exactly mongrull. they may change it before it reached production. But according to whipple those are the final numbers and ford tuned for an otherwise stock motor.

475 RHWP, 450 RWTRQ and mid 11's on street slicks. Of course quarter mile times are hard to judge, but dyno numbers are pretty easy to validate once you establish a baseline.

Fine believe what you want but the article is obviously not right since it still shows a release date of 2-1-06.

GJP05, i totally understand where you are comming from, in fact i am more or less siding with your opinion even though i did not say so. BUT all of the info put into writting is either VERY misleading, will change or correct, take your pic. my opinion is whipple wouldnt have those numbers up so close to their expected production date, and the bilated production date, and the second bilated production date, you get the point. plus their words state that you will achieve those number in rwhp with their kit. i would love to really believe those numbers but its difficult to put faith in advertising before a product comes out.

but then again, it may be true.

Well, it is up to them really. If the kit is quality and puts down big numbers they will corner the market.

If not, saleen will sell more blowers.
