Pre mod RWHP dyno results ???
does anyone have 4.6L 3v V-8 2005 Mustang GT Premium RWHP BEFORE ANY mods? i.e., straight stock.
Thanks
FYI i was 267.55 RWHP after K&N Air charger and my personal Diablo Predator tune then I had it on dynojet and they used the Diablo Predator to tune resulting about in 276.8 RWHP ( about a 4.13% RWHP gain).
Thanks

RE: Pre mod RWHP dyno results ???
depends on weather, the calibration of the dyno, elevation etc, etc, etc but they generally dyno (on a dynojet) anywhere from 230 - 270 RWHP.
I was wondering about this as well because of the claims that the engine is underrated (i do believe they are slightly underrated). I have seen stock dyno charts in magazines and on the internet that would lead me to believe it's generally somewhere in the ballpark of around 245ish.
Dynos numbers don't really mean much anyway IMO. They are a good tuning tool but I don't put much faith in them. You can see a 10% difference from dyno to dyno, from day to day on the exact same car with the exact same mods. Even the same dyno can produce radically different results on the same car on different days. I have seen that happen myself.

RE: Pre mod RWHP dyno results ???
1+ on above. i dont know if ill ever dyno. ive driven a few different types of racing cars drag and circle track and never once had anything dynoed. if you beat the guy either you had a more powerful car or you drove better, no one ever won a race on a dyno that i know of. but if your curious then go for it. its neat so see your numbers climb as you do mods. just know there are different types of dynos out there. last month modified mustang magazine did a great article on the 2 most popular. worth a read if you plan on buying some dyno time.

I'm sorry but I think I had more than that. My car was always faster than my friends mustang. I've seen numbers like 275 too and I'm thinking that ballpark.

RE: Pre mod RWHP dyno results ???
My Dynojet was 265 rwhp and 277 rwtrk stock no mods in LA basin California 91% octane land. My Dynojet after my Saleen series VI supercharger was installed was 375rwhp and 365 rwtrk with stock injectors, K&N air filter, stock pulley, Saleen facotry install tune.
I have purchased a JDM Engineering Tune Kit for the Saleen SC set up which includes a Warm weather tune, Cold weather tune on the SCT X-Cal2 Hand tuner, 39# injectors, 90mm Mass air kit, 3.6 pulley(8.5psi). This conservativley will bring my numbers to approx. 415rwhp and 405rwtrk or a tad more in 91% octane California. I have been told that these numbers in California are as high as I should go without changing out more internals. This would put my flywheel HP at about 485. Not bad for a 3560 lb car.
I'm hoping I have a safe experience with this new tune, as I have had so far with the Saleen SC upgrade. I'm trying to decide wheather to upgrade to 9x18 Bullitt wheels all around maxed out with 275/40/18 Goodyear F1 Eagle D3's all around, or go to a staggered set up with 10x18's(deep dish) in rear, 9x18's(standard) in front, in which case I'd put the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A 285/40/18's rear, and 255/45/18's in front. The staggered giving a more aggresive muscle car look, or the same size wheel/tire all around look which would look more gentlemanly and subdued(sleeper).
Please offer me your opinions on the wheel/tire upgrade, I'd like to hear them, thanks, Erik
