But you may want to check around before you go dropping a teksid block in your car. I'm pretty sure you'll need to retrofit the motor mounts for the block plus you'll have to make sure your getting a teksid block from a RWD car since the oil filter housing is mounted differently. But they are reportedly stronger and lighter.

the only motor that would be worth the money would be the GT500 motor. . . fully built 5.4 with a blower already. . .

and it should bolt right inz(with proper adapter mounts). . .

besides that, better off building what you already have. . .

ughh!

a. IRON BLOCK - heavy as hell for no reason - should have been the Ford GT engine (Carol! you are in charge of making sure they do the right thing - what happened!)

b. I am sure even that rusty beast will be pretty pricey as-is. Building up a 3v or even swping in a 4V would be cheaper if you can find it.

The catch with the 4V is that you need the blower and the motor to make the power so now you are talking full long-block...

I would expect that to cost at least as much as a built bottom end + an SC or TC setup particularly when you consider labor for retro-fitting...

Don't know if you care, but depending on where you are, you also have the issue of emissions requirements... Strictly speaking you are not supposed to put an older motor in a newer car... Now ask if any shop will check when teh OBD-II codes come back ok?

Teksid does indeed still require some gymnastics to mount, but has been done often enough that it should not be rocket science...

The Ford GT motor uses dry sump lubrication vs. ours and the GT500's wet sump. Making a dry sump application work is possible but it take a lot of modiftication. JDM is working on fitting a wet sump version of the Ford GT 5.4 in the Lighting and Mustang GT. As far as mounts for a teksid in a S197 check with either JPC Racing or S.T Motorsports as they are the only two shops to have done the conversion that I can think of right now.

1) Get a 5.2l stroker kit.. 2700$
2) Add stage1 cams and ported heades.. 2200$
3) Top it with a kennebell blower.. 5000$

..And you get something pretty similar to a blown 5.4l engine, if not alot more powerfull...

+ it'll probably cost about the same or less than the price of a GT500 motor, let alone the cost and headache of swapping.

Oh my god!! that's 10K[sm=insomnia.gif]

i had a question on the 5.2 stroker kit though, what would be the labor on something like that and the horsepower increase?
