I have 800 miles on mine and started playing with it at about 400 miles. I can tell at this point that it is more broken in at this point. She has gotten a bit quicker, milage has increased a bit. Car is smoother in general. But dont run it like a baby when new. Use common sense, but running it hard at times will ensure proper break in.
Once I hit 1000 I am confident she is broken in nicely.

take it to the track. im going this thursday to irwindale speedway 20 bucks all the runs you can get in. its a 1/8 mile track my best time so far is 9.0 so you can come race me i love keeping up with stock gt's. its a much better rush then killing some one on the street. but thats just my opinion. and when i say kill i mean it family and all.

i waited til about 1k mi. i got it in sept 2004, so for a while it wasn't people "racing" me, so much as "gawking" at my car. its a good thing /martha stewart

I'm approaching 1,000 miles and I haven't tached it up yet. I've kept it under 2500 rpm for the most part and have driven very gently. I'm as worried about wrecking into something as I am about damaging the drivechain in some way, really. I don't feel comfortable enough yet with the car as a whole to be pushing it hard yet.
This talk about driving it easy being bad for break-in is BS IMO, at the worst, it only delays the break in until you do eventually decide to run it out hard a few times. I'm prepared to live with that rather than risk something worse.

I waited about 20 minutes and 35miles until i raced a s2000 . I punished my car right from the get go with no problems. Here I am 18,000 miles later most of which was put on with 10lbs of BOOST with the Saleen Supercharger and smacking the 7k revlimit I have set. Still runs like a champ.
