Default for those of you with side exhaust...

Well, I am only a V6er and I am wanting to put side exhaust on my car, and since I don't think the prefabed kits will fit a V6, nor can I afford them, I went to a few muffler shops and they seemed to think a side exhaust would be to low...

so my question to you folks is....do the side exhaust kits do something special to make up for ground clearance? I saw a picture of the underside of a car with a kit installed, and the exhaust pipe came out of some glasspacks (or something else inline) and around the back side of the gas tank, then up to some tips infront of the rear wheel...

since I am going to have to get a totally custom job, I want to try and give them as much info as I can if I go through with this...

anyone want to give me some advice? I am basically asking you guys because I am not sure what is different about the GT's and V6's....when a shop put my ride up on a lift, there was only so much ground clearance, and if they are the same on the V6 and GT, I am fairly confident I won't have much of a problem as long as I watch it over speed bumps and such...

thanks for anyones help....
