Just remember that these cars beg to be 'woken up'. After working with dozens of these S197's, it still never ceases to amaze me how much more performance than can achive with limited mods and a GOOD TUNE. Tuning these cars makes all the difference in the world. Gears help quite a bit too. I'm sure you've got the bug and we'll be seeing you around. Welcome to the forums.

PS - stock for stock and equal drivers it was his race all the way so don't feel bad.

my model says with s/c (~12 psi), exhaust (lth, x-midpipe), drag radials, short throw shifter, and 4.10 gears you'd get following times

60 ft 1.57 sec
1/8 7.3 sec
1/4 11.39 sec

will cost you about > 10K but you'd smoke that c5 and even hang with a Z06

Out of curiosity, what were the elapsed times?
Also, is the Vette a stick or auto?

We will see if it is BS or not eventually, but the FRPP whipple kit is claiming 11.8sec with street slicks for 5 grand.

Id say supercharge it and get a nice set of heads. Youll smoke that chevy hard. My buddy and I built an 83 ranger with a mild 302 that would smoke vettes, it was kinda funny to see the look on their faces when they just got spanked by a pick up.

My buddy had his *** handed to him by a co-workers supercharged Stang. So then he put a procharger in his Vette now the guy with the stang doesn't even wanna park next to him. I belive the Vette is pushin around 525rwhp now...

course that's assuming a s/c with ~12 psi boost. not sure where the whipple stands in relation to that.
