I dont doubt that something was wrong with his set-up. Maybe the tune. The thing sounded pretty rowdy driving thru town. He claimed that he had been outrunning several other cars on the "cruise". He'll probably come looking for me again when he gets the bugs worked out....If it were me, I'd be embarrassed to be "half tracked" by a normally aspirated GT. But when he comes looking, I'll be ready to show him the taillights again with a little shot of the "juice" if needed....

I ran a SRT at the strip a couple of weekends ago. He was a Rick Hendrick sponsored car and was claiming 12's in the 1/4. Too bad we have an 1/8th. But we went back and forth. We ran four times and i won twice and he won twice. He treed me every single time and my top speed through the traps beat him every single time. It was a 1/8th mile race every single time. I was pulling him in every run but was only able to pass him before the traps twice. Each run was something like .02 to .09 difference between us at the end. I am actually impressed with the little four banger.

If I remember right, the Stage 3 is a turbo upgrade. The exhaust side of the turbo and the exhaust manifold is one part on those cars. Its the same turbo as on an older Evo. A friend of mine with a Stage 1, boost controller, intake, etc, could run 13.0s all night long on street tires......spinning down most of the track...
Stage 2 is a computer upgrade with a switch on the dash to change the program, bigger injectors, and fuel pump?....
