Yes you can get a WRX, especially on a roll, but it ain't childs play. I drive on 06 GT and my buddy has a WRX (both stocksih).
STi... steer clear. You can't get the STi unless the other driver is a dipsh@t. I traded my 05 STi for my 06 GT and the STi is WAY faster. Stock the STi does 0-60 in 4.5. The GT is more like 5.3 and you are slower with the 20s on.
If you have mods go for the Sti, but if you are stockiwht 20s steer clear.

Still 4.5 is faster that 5.1
Love my Mustang but a stock GT with 20s vs a stock STi.... the GT is the loser.

You will be close with an STI, youll smoke the regular wrx imprezza....
STI= 0-60 4.5
GT= 0-60 5.1
1/4 mile they still have better times..dont remmber off top of my head. did my research though,
BUT....BUT....
If you went from a roll about 50-60...you might be able to take him...but it will be very close, a drivers race.
ive driven both...and the sti's are wicked fast...

What year is the WRX? The newer ones have the 2.5l engine now and a slight bump in HP. If you race from a dig just be patient. If he can drive well he will scare the crap out of you the first 60'. Then you will start reeling him in. I wouldnt say you would smoke him....from a roll then yes. AWD's lose a lot more hp by the time it hits the wheels. In general WRX's get about 170hp to the wheels stock and STi's about 235 - 240hp.
