I have an 06 Vert and my 1/4 time was 12.794, this is with JBA LT's, H-pipe, Magnapack, C&L CAI and Evolution tune. However, this was on a Mustang Dyno which had a simulated 1/4 mile so I am not sure how close these are. Still the darn thing seems pretty fast!
Don't believe the 1/4 mile times you get on the Mustang Dynos. The first time I went to the Evolution Perfomance shop they did that 1/4 mile thing, all I had was the 89 tune from brenspeed and the C&L tune and my time was something like 12.8 secs.

5 whole seconds? do you know how much faster that is? wow - thanks for the feed back gang -
He meant half a second 0.5 seconds. It's still a lot to drop off in the quarter, that would "typically" equate to a change of around 50 HP or loosing 500 pounds off of the car.

Wow your good. I don t even know where I can get that but trust me i'll work on it and let you know. thanks a bunch.

Probably using CarTest.
It's a computer program, that I also have, and it works out pretty good, IF auto manufacturers
claim the true power the car is REALLY making.

It's a 6-7 year old program.

As for the differences. Actually the automatic runs within a tenth or so of the manual.
But the traps speeds of the auto are 3-4 mph less as 3rd gear drops off quite a bit and
4th even more.
I think it's actually easier to launch the auto and the auto's first to second gear shift is EXTREMELY quick.
Faster than most manual drivers can shift.

It wouldn't surprise me if 90% of auto drivers beat manual drivers out of the hole and
may stay ahead through the 1/8th mile.
Then the manual starts to pull.

I was really surprised by the pull of the auto in the first two gears.
It would clearly be a driver's race in a 1/4 mile contest between the auto and manual.
Very good to great manual driver's would win
Average to slightly above average manual drivers would be a tie with an auto
below average manual drivers will get beat by an auto.

do you have a choice on your model for a vert? How much does that slow an auto GT down?

The vert is about 150 pounds heavier, and is slightly less aerodynamic.
So figure about .2 seconds slower in the 1/4 mile (about a car's length)

However, it depends on weight distribution.
The 150 pounds is mostly over the rear which gives the vert a bit better weight distribution
and potentially better launching due to less wheel spin and actually allow it to
jump a 1/2 car length in front at first. But it's weight and less aerodynamics will come into
play after that and allow a coupe to catch and pass and slowly pull away as speeds climb.
So it might be closer to only about
.1 seconds and 1 mph slower.
