Proven over and over in many different settings. NASCAR IHRA NHRA It is good stuff. However so is Mobil 1 , Syntech, and Amsoil. Probably a personal preference. I use Amsoil, have for many years. Benefits?? Who Knows

I guess what I'm askin is, Is how is a ROYAL PURPLE oil change gonna be different from a regular PENZOIL oil change? Is there a performance gain short term? How will it affect the car long term?
What about tranny and other stuff like gear lube etc?

Whats wrong with Penzoil....I've been changing about every 3500 miles with mostly freeway driving....I'd say 75-85% (I drive to work 48 miles each way 5 days a week.) with little traffic. As far as I've always been concerned, oil is oil if kept clean.....so my thoughts have always been.

I have tried a few synthetics out there. Every car I have used mobil 1 in has developed seal leaks. Fairly new motors, old motors, etc.
But it is decent stuff.
I personally use Red Line oils exclusivly in most of my cars that dont get a ton of mileage. Redline has tons of data that shows that they are #1 above all other brands. As it is expensive at close to 7 bucks a quart wholesale by the case. I still change my oil every 3000 miles or annually. But usually the annually comes before the 3000 on the cars I run redline in.
I dont know about the stang. I might just stick with the ford semi-synthetic for now if it isnt too pricy.
What what it comes down to though is that you should use what you are comfortable with. To me though, I dont trust any heavily advertised oil that needs all these stupid shows to boost its image.

I'd **** in my oil pan before I'd use pezoil. I used it (no other choice within 50 miles) in my last car and shelled a crank bearing. I just switched to Mobil 1 and so far so good.
