Window drop timing?
Just had a driver door replaced due to accident (wife backed into it!).
New OEM door shell with my guts installed. Guy down the street did it (nice paint job-perfect match).
However, when you open the door and the window drops that whisker as you are opening it, well, the timing is off. Makes the window catch a bit on the car body gasket. If you pull the latch slowly,keeping the door shut, no problem-but who does that? I already adjusted the door latch rod inside, but to no avail, this just adjusts the freeplay in the outside latch-made no difference.
It's just the outside latch, as the inside latch drops it perfectly. Passenger side is perfect, so something's off, but neither the installer nor I have a clue. Minor thing, but drives me nuts...[:@]
Any ideas? It's a hard roof (coupe) gt,2005...

Might be normal. Mine too works fine from the inside, but if I pull on the door at all from the outside, it catches on the gasket. This short glass drop thing really is a **** poor feature. [:'(]

Just checked mine, and the windows catch. Never noticed it before. Thanks for the heads up. I'll have to open the doors more slowly from now on. But I also like the feature for the same reason as bl1nkage.

Yeah, there is a way to re-calibrate them, but I don't hink that will solve YOUR problem. It is more for if they don't drop at all or don't come back up after the drop. But, hey its worth the try, right?
Here's how to calibrate the drop:
Proper operation of the short drop glass requires that the windows be
calibrated. Though your windows will have been calibrated before
your vehicle is delivered to you, it is possible for the windows to
lose calibration. If a window loses its calibration, your short drop
feature will lower the window, but will not raise it again when the door is
closed. To re-calibrate the window, pull the switch up to raise the
window until it completes its travel and hold the switch up for
2 seconds. Another possible effect of lost calibration is that the feature
may not lower the window. To re-calibrate the window in this case, lower
the window until it completes its travel and hold the switch down for
2 seconds. Immediately after releasing the window down switch, pull the
switch up to raise the window until it completes its travel and hold the
switch up for 2 seconds. Perform Short drop re-calibration with
doors closed only. Re-Calibrating with doors open will cause the
window to continuously bounce back.
