07 Prices - MSRP

07 Prices - MSRP
I am new to the forum and will soon purchase my new GT. I was looking for a 5sp manual in 06 but apparently these are hard to come by in the color of vehicle that I want (interior etc.)
I have decided to order an 07 and was wondering what was realistic as far as price off of MSRP-or is that crazy. I have an in at a local dealership which has quoted me a price about $1000 off MSRP. I am use to getting more than that off later in the model year but understand that the GTs have been selling and aren't likely to have incentives. The dealer also told me that Ford lowered the MSRP but dealer costs went up slightly. Any thoughts on this?

You should be able to get a much better deal on ordering one versus buying it off the showroom floor. I just ordered an '07 GT vert a few days ago and the price was 100 bucks under invoice (around 2700 under sticker). Shop around some more, you should be able to do better than what they quoted you.

RE: 07 Prices - MSRP
Who told you that the MSRP of the 2007's will be less??
I find that REALLY hard to believe. The cars have been selling really well, Ford
wouldn't lower the MSRP of the car that's virtually unchanged.
If anything, I'd expect a $200-300 HIGHER MSRP for 2007, maybe even higher than that.
I'm trying to find out of Ford is going to offer incentives/special financing for
the Mustang GT over the 4th of July holiday.
Every year they have a Sell-a-thon over that week, and maybe it will
include the Mustang GT.
The 2007's start rolling into showrooms in late August.
I'm still waiting to see official price and weight numbers on the 2007 GT's though.
Now that they are using thicker gauge steel in certain areas on ALL Mustang GT's.
If the weight gain is less than 40-50 pounds I'd consider getting 2007.

RE: 07 Prices - MSRP
Go to www.kbb.com and you can price out the 2007 Mustangs. The MSRP are not lower then the 2006 models, but they are not that much higher either. NOTE that for 2007 the manual GT's come standard with the 3.31 rear-ends and the 3.55 is a $100 (MSRP) option.
This thread I started has prices from kbb for 2007 Mustang GT Premium Coupe:

RE: 07 Prices - MSRP
Well, that's interesting, I used to go to KBB for all my car stuff, but a couple years back they
changed their website and it became a PITA to deal with. It still is, so I go to Edmunds.
Edmunds doesn't have pricing for the 07 GT yet.
Anyhoo, here's what I found on KBB.
MSRP on the 07 GT Prem effectively went up $160
However, some of the options also went up and to get the same
3.55 gear ratio is now $100 (as we all know).
So to get an equally equipped GT Premim with just Interior upgrade package, Alarm, side air bags
the 2007 MGT will cost you $290 more (incl. the $100 for the 3.55 gears).

Where did you hear that.
I was told by my local dealer who has worked there for 20 years that
the 2007's don't go into production about the 10th of July and will hit dealerships
5 weeks later.
