Move to Florida and all your problems will be solved.. er.. at least with the deductable. Insurance companies here are required by law to replace any chipped or cracked windshield absolutely free to the car owner. We had to have the windshield replaced in my last car because someone threw a shaving cream can at it and it hit on the edge of the can and caused a giant crack right in the drivers side corner... called the insurance company and they took the bill for it.
