Default 160 thermostat with Pulley's

Ok, I've read the thread about changing the pulley's and on hot days there is an increase in temp, even if small it is an increase. Has anybody installed a high flow 160 or 180 thermostat to offset this or just to lower temps in general?

Back in the 5.0 days the 160 was a no brainer, this ain't no 5.0 however so hit me with your thoughts.

i wouldnt go lower than 180, thats what i went with and get a cel every now and then cuz comp. is not reading optimal engine temp. but in shop now to have dyno tuned so this will be fixed. your comp. must be flashed in order to recieve ne benefits of a cooler t-stat.
i also have steeda pullies.

I think 160°F will cause it to throw a lot of CELs. The stock thermostat on the 05-06's is 180°F.

Thx,

Mike

The stock one is 180?!? My dealer says it's a 200 degree thermostat and of course the dealer was saying "if you change the thermostat and it affects something blah blah blah". I'm ok with a 180 being an aluminum block it needs a bit of heat in it where the 5.0 needs a lower thermostat at least I feel so, mine was carb'd so I didn't have to worry about pre-heater lines or anything like that.

Does the '05/'06 have intake water lines like the 5.0 did? I haven't looked that close but I haven't seen any.
