Default Damn Rev limiter

Well I did it again.A little beemer was gettin foggy on a 2 lane onramp and the wife said dust him. Drilled it in first and hit the rev limiter just as I was shifting a, then did it again in second. Slight downhill and 6 grand came really quick. The car really dies when it kicks in. All said still left him 4 car lengths back as I hit the highway bumpin 100. Damn I love this car!!
My question is what do you guys with the tunes run the limiter at? I think the C&L is my next investment. Just seems like the motor is really happy 6000+.

I installed the C&L with the 93 predator tune that came with it. this tune sets the Rev-limiter to 7000 and removes the speed limiter.

7000 seems high to be spinning to me. I am glad to know people are doing it and the engines are capable. Gives me peace of mind when my auto shifts about 6 that I'm not going to hurt it.

My actual reason for posting was that 6000 seems a little too low from a seat of the pants feel. 6300 or so would prob feel right. I was wondering what shift points others use.

Prior to the CAI it was useless above 5900 or 6000, with the CAI and 93 octane tune 6300 seems the best shiftpoint for me.

Speed limiter? You mean...wind resistance? I've always read that these cars are limited 150s due to wind resistance, not any artificial speed limiter, but, then again, there's no way you'd catch me doing 150 so...I can't honestly prove/disprove

Even on the stock tune, your car should pull to 6200 rpm. On a custom tune, you should have it pulling to 6500-6600 rpm. With stock settings, I would set your limiter for 6500. You can always get a dyno and then you would know exactly what your peak rpm is.

I've hit the damn rev limiter several times like that, and it is truly a pain in the ***. I agree that the stock rev limit is way low by a seat of the pants feel. Mine just wants a little bit more right when the limiter hits. Looks like I'll have to break down and buy a tuner so I can move it, along with all the other benefits of a better tune of course.

Yeah, I'm convinced I need to get the CAI and tune. These cars rev so nice that a shift point light wouldn't be a bad addition if you were inclined to do a little raceing.

It may pull to 6200 rpm but the "torque nanny" starts killing off your "go" before then, to prepare for when you do hit the rev limiter.
