the short answer is yes; when you put a higher flowing intake on an S197 car you need to retune the engine to make up for the higher airflow. otherwise, u wont get anything out of it, or worse you'll damage the engine due to detonation.

If the CAI makes any changes to the MAF housing (ie larger) then yes you do. If it does not, then no you do not.
