major low RPM lag

RE: major low RPM lag
didn't try it yet...............you've done the exact procedure before and nothing?
seems weird, no idea how pushing the throttle a couple times would reprogram the servo motor. doesn't make sense to me; but hey, im not an expert on spanish oak, so who knows.

RE: major low RPM lag
AM Muscle,
I have done the above process several times, and yes it has worked. However, I have never disconnected my battery first.....
If you follow those steps, and it's real quiet outside, you can actually hear the computer do the "re-learning" process....
Hey, it's worth a shot, right?? The computer does seem to learn driving habits, just need to re-teach it a new trick.....
Mike
PS. A CAI and tune will solve everything as well......

I'm not sure about the GT, but scrming, a 4.0 member says that the V6 Auto car has a torque limiter in 1st gear and having a tune will remove it. The same thing seems to happens to me in my V6. The thing just seems like a dog until it shifts or unless I launch at around 3k. My tuner arrives tomorrow so I guess I'll find out.
(Oh, the V6 and GT have the same auto transmissions so they might be tuned in a similar manner as fasr as having some kind of torque limiter for first gear.)

RE: major low RPM lag
well, i tried it. nothing. not even the placebo effect. some ******** in a golf gti revved at me, and his exhaust sounded so bad that i almost threw up. also, some ******* ***** in an audi ran a red light and damn near killed me. but nah i didn't notice any better throttle response.

Yes Sir Americanmuscle....
I tried the pedal thing, but i haven't tried disconnecting the battery. I guess I've kinda learned to live with it till you mentioned it, and then ever since then its been buggin me again. Really, the few times i've wanted to run it hard, I'll let out on the clutch around 2000 or a lil higher....not dumping the clutch, but once you get rolling you're already above that problem area, its not really launching the car, its taking off at a higher rpm....Thats kinda of my cheating way about it. Doing so, it'll take off nicely....and if you get in the throttle more than that, without traction control, you're just gonna sit there....or at least its like that in my car. From a dead stop there are 3 ways to launch my car... Below 2000-the bog and go...2000-Goes pretty nicely...2500-Roast tires. Rolling down the highway or whatever I don't worry about the lack of torque as I'll just downshift if I wanna accelerate....But I know what you mean....rollin in first, it has no go till around 2000, then its like oh sh** better hang on....
Hope someone figures it out soon,
Cory
