Removing Shifter ****

Hey everybody. Just picked up my 2006 GT yesterday, I was wondering how do I take the shifter **** of. (It's a 5 spd), I want to put the 8 Ball **** from the '65 that I used to have in high school. Thanks for the help.

It simply unscrews. Grab it and twist.

Also the boot is just an elastic band going around the base of the shifter. I tried to unscrew the base of the shifter for 15 minutes before I figured that one out.
