Default 07 GT throttle fix

I sure hope Ford fixes this throttle lag in the new 07 gt's. If they do then we all need to go to our individual dealerships and demand they install the 07 parts on our cars. This is rediculous. I'm tired of my car getting the gas, slummping out, then deciding to go again. It feels like I'm popping the clutch and can't drive a 5 speed.

Is this throttle lag just with automatics? The reason I ask is because I have a 06 GT (manual) I bought 2 weeks ago and have not had any issue with any kind of lag. To me it feels just like a mechanical link rather then drive by wire (computer controlled).

When I get on it, it is there instantly, no lag. When I am cruising at regular speeds and just lightly stab the peddle the same thing it is instantly there and puts you back in the seat a bit.

To be fair, some people CAN'T drive 5 speeds and think they can, not saying you're one of them but I have yet to feel this lag in my '06 or any other '05/'06 GT's I've driven.

+1 ... I too have a manual, and have never experienced any throttle lag.

A partial fix - index the throttle plates with the peddle travel!!

How - Turn the key to the ON position (do not start the car). Wait about 20 seconds for all the warning lamps to go out and the computer to finish its start-up routine. Slowly and steadily depress the gas pedal all the way to the floor and then slowly release the pedal. Turn the car off. Start it and see if the response is better. If not, disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes. Reconnect it and repeat the procedure.
