Believe it or not my car is 5 weeks old with 2400 miles and I already had to have the alternator replaced. Just a heads up in case this problem is not unique. It took them 4 hours to figure it out because the problem is intermittent. Most of the time it was charging the battery but every once in awhile it wasn't. Of course they didn't have one in stock but they ordered it Friday and it came in today and was installed.

There is a TSB out on it. (Service Bullitin) Some 05's had this problem, but haven't heard it in a while.

Ok so it must not be a unique situation. BTW...my service guy called it an alternator but the technician who did the work called it a generator. So I guess it's a generator! Ha...depends on who you talk to there!
