Sticky tires

Ok, so i know sum of u are running huge power, i would like to know what tires i should get (rear tires i need) i can fit 255/45/18's but i want to hook like crazy, be street legal and not wear them out to fast (drag radials are out i guess)

What about going with some 275/40/18's, Nitto 555's.

cant fit them on my rims, they are only 7.5 inches wide... or could i?? 555r's? or the 555's? do the 555's? hook well?

From what I've read the 555's hook damn near as well as the 555r's. I don't know this to be a fact since I haven't run them but have seen it posted on here several times.
