Default Hp Numbers With Mods

OK. I was wondering if some of you would tell what your HP numbers at the wheels have been recorded at....The reason I have the following Mods--C&L CAI, 62mm TB, Underdrive Pulleys, Catted-X pipe, Borla cat-back, and 4:10 gears, then had it dyno tuned, and my numbers at the wheels were 291hp and 298ft.lbs of torque. Mind you the HP and Torque curves looked sweet on the graph they just seem like they might be a little lower than normal. The car is a 5 speed, and the temp was 97 degrees outside. Don't get me wrong the car feels stronger with the dyno tune and everything but I keep seeing guys with the same basic mods saying they run 12.70s with over 300hp at the wheels. And the usual torque I see leans mre toward the 310-315 range. So I was wondering if my numbers sound about right to some of you other guys. Thanks in advance for the opinion.

Mustang Dyno or Dyno Jet... If you're getting your numbers from a Mustang Dyno, they typically report lower than dyno jet.

But yeah, I got 306/321 and then 303/327 on a dyno jet w/ a custom tune in ~95 temps and high humidity.

It was on a Dynojet, that is kind of why I am asking. I mean I know every car is different, but it seems pretty low to me. The car only has 8000 miles on it. Maybe it will break in an get better. I guess that is all I can hope for.

Mine came alive around 12k miles. I raced my friends GTO and it was dead even, 5k miles later(12k total) I was putting a car on him with the same exact mods.

it's about right. stock rwhp is in the 265 to 270 range. your are gettign an extra 25 to 20 rwhp which is not bad at all with the stock headers. keep in mind the gears are not going to impact torque of hp curve of engine.

I think it sounds a bit low but maybe like 5-8hp or so. Mine with only the C&L and SCT did 292hp and 306 tq on a dynojet. Check your correction factor and the smoothing rate on your printout. Those can change your numbers also. Mine was SAE with 0 smoothing rate. Alot of people post STD factor and that is always higher.

OK. Mine said Sae 1.04 and a soothing of 5, so not to sound stupid but what does that do to the hp numbers exactly? I also heard that every dyno is different and that this dyno may just be calibrated different. The guys who did the dyno told me I could go to a different dyno and it may read high 290s or even in the 300s for hp. Thanks for all the responses, I appreciate all the inputs.

5sp manual with a C&L, a 93octane tune and MAC axle-backs, my numbers were 286rwhp/302rwtq on a dynojet with about 8,500 miles on the odometer . My tuner has observed another 7 -10 rwhp with pullies, so your numbers sound a bit low to me. Hell, my numbers sounded low to me.

Well, I guess that makes up my mind for me time to go get the Longtubes and Charge Motion Delete Plates......LOL At least as soon as I can. Believe me after he told me how much I had I almost bought the delete plates right then. I mean don't get me wrong I know that the car still reasonably quick right now, but I had a T-Bird that put out about 280hp at the wheels so I guess I was just like what the ***k. I guess it is just a matter of time and as usual money now. I will say this much though, the tuner told me he did some stuff to try and help my gas mileage out too, and with 4:10s in the rear I got 26.2 miles per gallon on the highway on the way back from there. At least that gave me a little something to be happy about, granted the HP numbers would have made me happier....
