As reported in the July 06 Hot Rod, the Cd of the GT500 is 0.38.

guess the shelby grille opening must be a bit more draggy?

any chance someone might want to share the formula for drag/hp/mph? never even looked for it yet, but would be kinda fun to see what the hp demands plot out to like from 60-80 mph, kinda curious just how much that really affects fuel economy...my 85 camaro got a best mpg of 35 @ 85 mph across new mexico- usually got mid 20's, always wondered if some cars due to gearing/torque peaks/drag can actually get better at higher speeds?

easier question maybe: has anyone with IUP ever checked instant MPG on a flat highway at 55/60/65/70/75/80 just to see where these cars run most efficiently? If so, is your car a stick or auto?

formula I use is [(engine torque* final gear ratio* driveline efficiency) / (tire radius)] - [(vehicle weight)* (0.01 * (1 + speed / 100)] - [drag_coeff * area * air density* 0.5 * speed ^ 2) ] and then the whole thing is multiplied by Gravitational constant/ total wieght.

first term is engine force to tire, second term is estimation for rolling resistance, third term is drag resistance.

Knowing the drag coeficient of these cars would realy help us here. Anyone with a guess. I am guessing somewhere between 0.34 and 0.38.
The only reference I could find is this article that says the cd for the Shelby GT500 is .38.
