You can buy it direct from saleen http://www.saleen.com/SC101_Services...0-2705-B11516*. It used to be about $25. I guess Saleen relized the demand was great.

true. almost of the sub ten second cars I have seen were autos. I think I might have seen a couple of four speed ones, but most of the fast cars are auto.

stick is fun though. I prefer it personally.

That makes me wonder what the driver is there for? Extra weight?

So is the kit sold here all you need?

http://www.haneymotorsport.com/SaleenGear.htm

It claims to shorten the throw by 26%. The hurst shifter is supposed to shorten the throw(atleast between 1&2) by 50%. Plus the hurst raises the **** **** up a good inch or more, does the saleen kit change the height?

The Saleen adapter shortened the throw at least by half of the throw of the stocker. It actually shortened the throw on my car by atleast 50%. The advertised 26% shorter than stock is a bit off, at least to me. It won't change the height of your shifter, it bolts directly to the bottom side of your shifter which all it really does is lower your stock shift linkage about an inch making it a shorter throw from point A to point B. The shifter won't have to travel as much distance from gear to gear.

I know this is going to sound outrageous....but why not order the Saleen part from Saleen ( available on their web site for purchase ) and order the Steeda bushings from Steeda ( again, purchasable via the web site ) ?

The parts were cheaper through them and Saleen is almost impossible to talk to someone that could give you good tech advise on the product. I tried to order directly from Saleen and waited on the phone for 30 minutes and gave up. Haney Motorsports had both items in stock and someone was there to awnser the phone and awnser any ?'s I had. Plus I only had to wait for the UPS man once to get my parts instead of two differnt times

I've never driven a manual with a short throw(although I think my moms 79 alfa spider has the longest throw ever, still fun to drive though). How much of a difference do yall think it makes?

It makes a huge difference. It's much more fun moving the shifter roughly half the distance and it saves time between gears. The Hurst has a notchy feel to it and is great on the street. I've never taken my car to the track though so I don't know how it would perform there vs. other shifters. Doesn't really matter to me since my car's strictly for fun on the street.
