HP loss with A.C. on?

RE: HP loss with A.C. on?
I don't know how much horsepower is lost, but it puts a significant drag on the engine. This is why some people also buy an electric water pump. The less additional components the engine has to turn, the more power you will have. The drag will be more noticable during acceleration and reving.

I've done several MPG tests with our AC system, and it is absolutely not noticable on MPG factors.. so I think it's safe to say that the HP loss will not be very signifigant.. and at WOT the compressor does stop spinning...

the AC does affect the car. max ac really hits the car hard; but there alot better. My first sport car (3000Gt) did not move w/ the ac on.
what i normally do is turn it off when i go, then turn it on when im cursing..
